New Amundsen – fascination Westfalia [11.07.2013]
The convention 2013 was the best occasion for Westfalia to present its newest vehicle and innovations. The new Amundsen, Made in Germany, which becomes the most affordable product from Westfalia’s range. From 42.605 Euro in Germany.
Amundsen is a real success story. First showed in Düsseldorf during the “Caravan Salon” last year, the most recent vehicle from Westfalia has been welcomed really positively. From now on produced directly in Wiedenbrück, Germany, Amundsen will entirely match the expectations of our customers. A priority for Westfalia’s CEO, Mike Reuer. Nevertheless our customers can rely on Westfalia to put a touch of innovation in Amundsen.
Amundsen will exist in two different versions. The 600D, around six meters, with a rear double bed and the 640E, almost six meters and a half, with two single beds.
New interior
At first appearance, it is easy to notice the new features added to the interior. Westfalia’s customer will immediately recognized the typical Westfalia’s touch. A mix of comfort and modernity. Amundsen belongs obviously to the same family as Columbus and Club Joker, beige, white and with some aluminum applications.
With the help of different materials and with color contrasts, Westfalia managed to offer an elegant and cozy interior.
The kitchen, the rear seats and the bathroom has been totally redesigned. The kitchen proposes from now on the possibility to integrate a real 100 l fridge with compressor. With the configuration cupboard at the bottom, the fridge is situated at eye level. In addition Amundsen profits of a large kitchen work area and many features to store all kitchen utensils.
Optimized washroom
In Amundsen’s washroom, Westfalia has installed the essential: a shower with a fixed and integrated washbasin, a mirrored vanity cupboard and a cassette toilet with electric flush. No matter how the vehicle is parked, the two shower drains allow a perfect evacuation.
The living area has also been redesigned, now the rotable driver and passenger seats are intergrated to this area. The rear seats are well formed to support the back and allow comfortable trips.
In new Amundsen, the heating is assured by a 4 kW Truma Combi, ideally placed under the rear seats.
The official introduction of Amundsen will take place at the “Caravan Salon” fair in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 31 august till the 08 september Halle 12, Stand A06-01 – A06-02.
